Kota stone is primarily quarried from the Kota district of Rajasthan, India, Kota stone is widely appreciated and valued for its unique blend of strength, versatile use, natural appeal making it a perfect choice for a variety of application in constructions and interior design.

Kota stone primarily consists of calcium carbonate, along with other minerals such as silica, which contribute to its hardness and durability. It is mainly available in blue, grey and brown shades, each offering  a distinctive look that can enhance the aesthetic appeal of any space.

Finishes of Kota Stone

High polish: This finish involves using abrasive materials or polishing pads to buff the surface repeatedly, removing any imperfections and giving a smooth surface to the stone.

Leather: This finish is achieved by brushing the stone surface with diamond or other abrasive brushes, which gives it a soft, matte appearance with a slightly rugged texture.

Mirror polish: This finish is achieved through a meticulous grinding and polishing process using progressively finer abrasives, resulting in a smooth, glossy surface that resembles a mirror.

Single polish: The single polish enhances the natural colour and texture of Kota stone while retaining its inherent rustic appeal, making it a versatile choice for various applications.

Butch / Rockface finish: This finish creates a rugged, uneven surface resembling a split or cleaved rock. This finish is achieved by chiselling or hammering the surface of Kota stone manually to give it a rough, textured appearance.
